I think my story begins a lot like other people's. I had gone through my own major weight loss journey in the past year and half, losing about 55-60 pounds on my own, mainly through adding in CrossFit and eating Paleo. I hit a plateau, where I was getting somewhat stronger, but not that much leaner. I was generally fine, weight-wise, but by no means did I look like the competitive CrossFitter I wanted to be.
I knew that the next step I needed to take was to somehow bring specificity and order into my diet. I tried Zoning as per CrossFit guidelines for about a week. During that week, I was eating an entire bag of frozen broccoli per meal. I was miserable, and at the end of the week, I remember very clearly binging on three bags of Enjoy Life chocolate. That put an end to the Zone for me.
I knew I had to eat better, but I just didn't know how to.
Skip forward 4 months. I saw Kara's transformation story, and I was sold. I knew that I had to make the investment into Jess and Pump and Shred in order to best learn how to fuel my body. And that investment has far and beyond paid off. I'm going to be a Pump and Shredder for life.
With Jess's support, I've gained a new understanding of how to properly fuel my body for the situations I find myself into, and I've also learned how to curb all those niggling pizza and chocolate cravings that I get oh so often. I've learned how to give in to having one or two treats a week without feeling like I'm going to lose all the gains I've made.
I feel fantastic, and I can't wait to continue to shed the body fat that I have left. And I'm excited to join the P&S team to spread the knowledge that I learned.
